Since the start of the pandemic, almost half of global consumers said they purchased a product online that they had previously only ever purchased in store. Since the onset of coronavirus, global E-commerce sales now account for almost one fifth of all retail sales. In the Netherlands the online share for groceries alone is expected to be 7.8% at the end of 2021 according to IRI’s latest forecast.
