ON-SHELF AVAILABILITY ALERTS RECAPTURE LOST SALES
Receiving daily out-of-stock predictions has enabled a retailer to fix shelf execution issues that are hard to catch systematically, such as hidden or misplaced items and phantom inventory. IRI's machine learning algorithms create daily predictions of when items may be out-of-stock in a given store so that store associates can manually check shelves and provide feedback on the alert. Each out-of-stock alert received by the retailer recaptured an average of $74 in sales, totaling $134 million in recaptured sales during one year for the retailer and its suppliers.
CUSTOMIZED ALERTS AND PREDICTORS FIND PRICE AND PROMOTION OPPORTUNITIES
A manufacturer had manual and inconsistent revenue growth processes in place, making it cumbersome to quickly identify price and promotion execution gaps and find new sales opportunities. IRI built customized opportunity alerts for the client within IRI Unify and helped the client integrate this as a core part of its price and promotion strategic process. Now, the solution automatically delivers price and promotion insights to the client's team based on user-input rules. IRI also implemented customized opportunity predictors for the client's corporate finance and regional commercial teams. This solution uses an advanced engine that allows users to forecast the impact of potential price and promotional changes, simulate multiple complex scenarios and prioritize opportunities. This collaborative deployment of alerts and predictors throughout the company is allowing the client to provide faster internal access to insights, and identify and implement new opportunities more effectively.
