Where’s the Meat? Understand What Consumers Want in Plant-Based Protein
Sales of meat skyrocketed in 2020 as the pandemic forced more meals at home. The versatility of beef in particular saw more than $1 billion in sales in Q1 2021 alone.
However, consumer demands and needs are still changing. As mobility ramps up, so does dining out. Since the pandemic began, more consumers are paying closer attention to their health and wellness, and sustainability continues to rise in importance, especially with younger generations. With all of this comes an increase in attention, space and launches within plant-based meat alternatives.
CPG suppliers and retailers need to be able to closely monitor changes in consumer preferences and shopping behavior and understand what’s on the horizon for plant-based protein – and what consumers seeking plant-based solutions can mean to the meat department and beyond.
During this 30-minute interactive session, experts from IRI and 210 Analytics share what consumers are telling us about how they eat now and how they want to eat going forward, and what the implications will be for both plant- and animal-based center of plate meal options.
