Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
We believe that everyone should be able to bring their whole selves to work.
At IRI, we are committed to having a culture where everyone has the chance to pursue their goals and fulfill their gifts. It is important to us that our company is a friendly and inclusive place to work, where all contributions are welcomed, and where our differences are celebrated.
We focus on four key areas:
Our
Diversity Advantage Program focuses on helping minority- and women-owned small CPG businesses grow. We do this by helping them forge closer partnership with our large retail clients and by providing operational support such as data, training and consultative resources. The goal of this program is to help create more equity in the CPG industry.
The program was honored with a 2021
Progressive Grocer Impact Award for Diversity and Inclusion. It was lauded as "a great way to level the retail playing field" and a way for IRI to use its unique position as a big data and analytics innovator to "make a difference in combating social injustice and generating economic opportunities for disadvantaged communities."
IRI is regularly recognized as a
Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. In addition to this prestigious designation, we earned a 100% perfect score in HRC's 2021 Corporate Equality Index, which is the national benchmarking tool on corporate policies and practices pertinent to the LGBTQ community. Demonstrating a commitment to LGBTQ equality was necessary for inclusion in the corporate equality index.
We are also proud to be certified by
Great Place to Work, with 81% of our employees considering IRI a great place to work compared to 59% of employees who say this at a typical U.S.-based company. This is a testament to all of our employees who strive every day to make IRI a better and more inclusive place to work. You can find other notable statistics from our employee survey on IRI's profile on the Great Place to Work website.
IRI partners with
Generating Genius, an organization that supports young people from diverse backgrounds who show high potential in science, technology, engineering and math but lack access to top universities and businesses. IRI opens its workplace to these young individuals to show them what it's like to work in data insights and analytics, inspiring their interest to work in the field and ultimately help create more diversity in the industry.
IRI is honored to partner with the
University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) for the UIC-IRI Diverse Marketing Scholars program. This two-semester program includes a monetary scholarship to select UIC students of color, ongoing mentorship and instruction from IRI market research professionals, and real-world lessons and project work in market research. The program is designed to develop a pipeline of diverse talent for Chicagoland that possesses the hard and soft skills needed by tomorrow’s market research professionals.
