Mike Eklund is IRI’s chief financial officer and joined the firm in July 2019. He is responsible for the overall financial management of IRI and its financial reporting and transparency, including accounting, financial planning and analysis, treasury, tax, audit, real estate and procurement.
Before joining IRI, Eklund served as chief operating officer and chief financial officer of DJO Global, a global provider of medical device solutions for musculoskeletal health, vascular health and pain management. In this role, he led all aspects of day-to-day operations, execution as well as the full finance function. During his tenure, Eklund led the transformation of the company, culminating in a successful transaction of the company from the Blackstone Group, an asset management company, to a publicly traded strategic buyer in 2019.
Prior to joining DJO, Eklund spent more than 20 years at Dell Technologies, where he most recently served as senior vice president of the Dell/EMC Value Creation and Integration Management Office. He previously held various other roles in the organization, including chief financial officer of Dell’s $40 billion-plus Client Solutions Business Unit and Global Operations, as well as vice president of Strategy, Business Planning and Operations for Dell’s $10 billion-plus Enterprise Solutions Group. He brings a wealth of global experience from his long tenure with Dell, including finance, operating, international and treasury roles.
Eklund began his career in public accounting as a staff accountant in tax and audit. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a master’s degree in business administration.
