David Hoodis is the president, Americas Retail at IRI and is responsible for driving growth and expansion of IRI’s services to the retail industry. He works with retailers to help them tap the opportunities created by big data and advanced analytics to drive ongoing, sustained growth.
Hoodis has more than 25 years of leadership experience in the retail industry. Prior to joining IRI, he served as the vice president of software, strategy and innovation for NCR Retail, where he worked with clients globally to provide strategic and tactical advisory services. During his tenure working with NCR, Hoodis also founded SMART Retail Solutions Group, a retail consultancy.
Before working at NCR Retail, Hoodis was an executive vice president at Modell’s Sporting Goods, where he was responsible for operations, stores, omnicommerce, distribution and other critical functions. Prior to that, Hoodis spent eight years at Walmart, where he served in many roles, the last of which was vice president of Innovations and Operations.
Earlier in his career, Hoodis served as chief information officer of Prime Retail, Inc., a $2 billion retail real estate investment trust (REIT), and held positions at Ernst & Young and Kagan-Edelman/Commercial Property Advisors.
Hoodis earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin and his master’s degree in management from the University of Houston.
