The desire for beautifully natural and prepared skin is going nowhere. But in order to achieve this, we are seeing potential in several beauty trends that don’t all start down the skincare aisle, but all connect Health, Wellness & Beauty… Here’s 3 beauty trend predictions for 2018.

Whilst we will continue to see more skincare products containing ingredients that we know to be good for our insides, such as Turmeric (good for inflammation) and Avocado (high in Vitamin E, great for moisture and skin nourishment). But we will also see a growth in the popularity of foods with skincare benefits such as foods rich in beta carotene for collagen balance and healthy cell growth. Foods rich in zinc which are known to reduce acne. Leafy greens which are known to promote gut health which has the added benefit of helping to keep skin clear.
In recent times we’ve seen a growth in the multiple step skincare regimes heavily influences by Korea. Long gone are the times when a facewash and some moisturiser was the extent of our skincare routine. We now have facewashes, cleansers, exfoliators, hot cloths and masks, moisturisers, facial oils, eye serums, primers and that’s before we even get to the cosmetics. Whilst the routine we adopt may not be as multi layered as the Koreans, we will most certainly take on board a slightly simplified version in the pursuit of flawless skin.
We understand the link between physical fitness and outer beauty. More than that however, physical ‘experiences’ will grow in popularity as people realise the mental health benefits of exercising alongside other people. As more of us are working from home with inevitable risk of isolation, in the last few years we’ve seen the growth of things such as Tough Mudder, Boot Camps and Park Run and I predict that these group activities will become even more popular in 2018.
